At Coopers Stadium, the Redlegs were about to receive a nasty shock by the lowly ranked Bloods.
A near even first quarter would see the Bloods up by five points at quarter-time, 6.2 to Norwood's 5.3. That's where the Redlegs were brought to a grinding halt, as the Bloods booted home a further 6.5 to be up by 34 points at the long break. Several young guns stepped up well this day, especially rookie Kris Vanderloo who would find himself among those voted as best afield. The Blood-hounds were fully awake for the first time this year, in the third term they would extend their lead to 44 points after adding 5.1 to their score while the Redlegs managed 3.3. The final term was a near shootout as the Redlegs tried in vain to catch up with the Bloods. It just wasn't going to happen, West kicking 6.4 to Norwood's 5.3. The Bloods boys were ecstatic, taking out a 51 point win and posting their highest score of the year.
Ben Hollands was voted best for the Bloods, while Matt Bartemucci was named best afield for Norwood.
