Match Report

At the Prospect Oval, the ABC TV's first televised match for 2008 would be the preliminary final re-match between the Roosters and the Eagles.

The 2007 runner-up, keen to get '08 off to good start, started off best in the first term to establish a nine-point lead at the first change. That lead was cut back to two points 10 minutes into the second quarter, but North responded quickly and by the half time break the Roosters were up by 22 points after booting 6.2 to the Eagles' 3.1. That minor score by the visitors was the last behind they would kick for the rest of the game. In the third quarter the Roosters looked in control and dominant, they were 42 points out half-way through. It was cut down to 37 points by the end of the term and it was from here that the Eagles threw a huge scare into the North Adelaide camp. In the third quarter, the Eagle boots were on fire as they kicked eight goals without a miss but unfortunately time ran out for them and fell short by just one goal. The 2.5 score kicked in that last quarter got the Red & Whites over the line.

Chris Ladhams was named best for North, while the Eagles voted in Ben Schwarze who bagged eight goals.
