In the last Saturday afternoon match, the Eagles met up with the Panthers at Woodville Oval. The last seven meetings have seen South taste victory only once, which was at Noarlunga by 11 goals. They came close in 2008, losing by 10 points at the same ground.
The Eagles took a while to fire with the first score of the game coming after 10 minutes, they kicked 4.1 and kept South to just one behind to lead by 24 points at quarter-time. The Panthers cut the margin back a little, but could have been a lot closer had they been more accurate... they scored 2.6 to the Eagles single goal to set the margin at 12 points at the long break. The home side managed to stretch the lead back out again, after kicking 3.1 to South's 2.1 in the third quarter to set up an 18 point gap at three quarter-time. The Panthers didn't have anything left for the final term, they managed just 1.3 as the Eagles scored 3.2 to take a 29 point victory.
The Eagles named Ken McGregor as their best on ground, while South named Dylan Williams as their best.
