Match Report

On Sunday afternoon at the Unleash Solar Oval in Woodville the Eagles faced Norwood. The last 10 encounters are split down the middle between these two clubs, the Eagles denying the Redlegs a fourth win-in-a-row as they left The Parade with a 23-point win in their last match in Round 5. The Eagles have had a lousy month, one win in five matches and the one at the Bay last week hurt like hell.

The Eagles would open proceedings with a 3.2 to 1.2 first quarter, taking a two-goal lead at quarter-time. The Redlegs would reel them back in during the second term though, kicking 4.3 to the Eagles' 3.2 to draw the gap back to five points. But strangely, this is where the Redlegs fight stopped. When play resumed, Norwood's skill level dropped while the Eagles' went up a notch as the home side kicked 3.3 to 1.3 to take a 17-point lead going into the last term. The Redlegs probably should have been obliterated from here, but while the Eagles didn't impose such a belting they still added 3.1 to 1.2 to take a 28-point win.

Scott Lewis was named best afield for the Eagles, while Darren Pfeiffer was named best for Norwood.
