Back to the inner suburbs, next up is a visit to Prospect Oval as the Roosters faced their closest league neighbours, the Redlegs. They last met in Round 15 at The Parade, the Roosters coming up 14 points short for their fourth loss in succession against the Redlegs.
Early on, the Redlegs looked like they would continue the pain for the Roosters as they blasted off to a 28-point lead after kicking 7.4 to three goals in the opening quarter. But the Roosters charged back into the match, inaccuracy preventing them taking control as they scored 4.5 to the Redlegs' 2.3 to bring the deficit back to 14 points by the half-time break. When play resumed, the Roosters remained persistent as they looked to reproduce the result against Centrals in Round 17. They did shave an extra point off the Redlegs' lead by three quarter-time, kicking 2.1 to two goals to make it a 13-point gap at the last change. But the Redlegs finally shot down any chance of a North revival as they again hit their stride to kick 5.2 to the Roosters' three goals to take out a 27-point victory against their neighbourly rivals.
Darren Pfeiffer took out best on ground honours for Norwood, while North named James Allan as their best afield.
