We head back towards the city and divert to the inner west, the City Mazda Stadium in Richmond hosting the game between the Bloods and the Crows. The Crows inflicted two massive defeats on the Bloods last year from one end of the season to the other, a 74-point hammering starting the premiership hangover and then a 94-point walloping in Round 21. The hangover seems to be continuing for the hapless Bloods, still without a win this year. They went down to the previously win-less Blues by 20 points last week, while the Crows were smacked aside by the Eagles by 45 points two weekends ago.
The Crows probably should have been at least equal on the scoreboard at quarter-time, but inaccuracy on goal saw them down by 15 points at the first break, the board reading 4.2 to 1.5. The Bloods looked to have finally turned a corner come half-time, they would extend their lead to 27 points on the back of a 3.2 to 1.2 second quarter. But a different Crows outfit emerged from the change rooms for the second half, by the final change the gap was back to a single straight kick. Adelaide's 7.3 to Westies' 3.3 reducing the home side's lead to three points come three quarter-time. The final quarter was all Adelaide, the silence was deafening among the Bloods faithful who were left to rue another disappointing afternoon. West were kept to just three behinds as the Crows bagged seven goals without a miss to win by 36 points.
Harrison Wigg notched up 38 disposals and was named best for the Crows, the Bloods named Zach Bates as their standout.
