Match Report

It was over an hour after that match began that the next game kicked off, we now head up north to the My Money House Oval in Elizabeth where the Bulldogs faced the Crows. The Bulldogs first win for the season came at the expense of the Crows, a nine-goal victory back in Round 3. Since then the Dogs have limped on, having to wait until Round 8 for their second win and even then some fans were, while relieved, still unconvinced. Adelaide have had some more luck than them, their last outing two weeks ago brought them a two-point win against the Redlegs, their fourth win this season.

The first term was pretty much the one that sent the Dogs reeling, the Crows kicking six goals to a lowly 1.2 to lead by 28 points at quarter-time. That gap would be widened to 39 points by the half-time break, the Crows adding a further 4.3 to the Dogs' 2.4. After their seniors went down on Thursday, this was a prime time for possible call-ups and a fair few hands were going up. The Dogs managed to outscore the Crows in the third term, however the inaccuracy problems carrying over from the second term continued to hamper their efforts. They kicked 2.4 to 1.2, bringing the deficit down to 31 points by three quarter-time. It was all to no avail though, the Dogs would be left with much to think about anyways as the Crows added a further five goals to Centrals' 4.1 to win by six goals.

Scott Thompson was named best on ground for Adelaide, the Dogs named Nick Holman as their standout.
