Known as ‘Butch’ because he was the local butcher, Albert Prior was a damaging forward who certainly knew where the goals were. In 103 VFL games in 1941 and between 1944 and 1950 he kicked 258 goals and topped Hawthorn’s goal kicking list four times. His best season’s tally came in 1947 when he booted 67 majors.
