Basil Collins was a wingman who, at 185cm in height, was quite tall for the position by the standards of the time. He was also proficient at kicking the ball with both feet, something else which made him stand out from the crowd. Blessed with pace and courage, he was said never to shirk an issue.
His career with Geelong began in 1910 and ended in 1921, but featured several interruptions which kept his number of games played to just 62. He scored 10 goals, and also represented the VFL once.
