From Preston Boys Club, Bill Tebble was a serviceable defender equally at home in a back pocket or at centre half back. Never really more than a fringe player at Collingwood, he nevertheless attracted respect for his wholehearted commitment to the cause. He played 57 VFL games and scored eight goals for the Magpies between 1950 and 1953.
