Diminutive in stature at just 165cm and 66kg (he was widely considered the lightest player in the league) Bob Wilkie was a fine wingman for St Kilda in 117 VFL games between 1940 and 1942 and from 1945 to 1951. He missed the 1943-4 seasons whilst on military service in the north of Australia. Boasting exceptional pace off the mark as well as over the first ten or so metres he handled the ball well and was also a good kick. He served the Saints in a number of off-field capacities after his retirement as a player.
