Brendon Miels was a lightly built half forward flanker and wingman who played 202 league games for Sturt between 1965 and 1977. Included in that tally were the Grand Final triumphs of 1966-7-8, 1974 and 1976. Miels also played seven senior and numerous reserve VFL games for Richmond in 1969 and 1970 during a National Service posting to Melbourne. In 1969 he helped the Tigers defeat Sturt in an end-of-season champions of Australia match in Adelaide.
