Pre 1965 stats are for selected matches only

AFL: 6,637th player to appear, 2,121st most games played, 2,208th most goals kickedCollingwood: 577th player to appear, 162nd most games played, 176th most goals kicked

Blessed with exceptional pace, Brian Gray could rove or play on a half forward flank but was probably best suited to a wing, the position in which he played most of his 111 VFL games with Collingwood between 1956 and 1965. He booted 45 goals. Recruited from Coleraine, he was a wingman in the Magpies' 1958 grand final defeat of Melbourne, and also played in the losing premiership decider of 1960 against the same opposition. A sound mark, and an accurate kick, Gray represented Victoria at the 1961 Brisbane carnival as well as in 1962. He enjoyed a particularly good 1962 campaign which saw him finish sixth in the Brownlow Medal voting.
