A tough, rugged follower who played the game hard, Baden-Powell 'Bud' Annand gave reliable service to St Kilda over 106 VFL games between 1956 and 1962. He could feasibly have continued his League career but, having been forced through his work as a policeman to relocate to the Ballarat area, he threw in his lot with local club Redan as captain-coach instead.
