A member of Central District’s 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005 premiership-winning combinations Daniel Healy was a long kicking, long striding wingman and half forward who played 135 SANFL games and kicked 160 goals for the Bulldogs in 1994-5 and from 2000 to 2005. The four season interim period saw him playing 38 AFL games and kicking 24 goals for St Kilda without ever really establishing himself. His best season was probably 1997 when he played 15 games. In 1999 Healy was the last ever winner of the Gardiner Medal for AFL reserves best and fairest.
