Darren Saunders was a solid defender who played precisely 50 V/AFL games, six with Footscray in 1986 and 44 for Collingwood from 1988 to 1993. Both of his career goals were scored with the Magpies. In between his two stints in the big league he played for East Ballarat. After leaving Collingwood he joined VFA side Werribee where he played six games and scored three goals in 1994.
