Slick, adroit and cunning, rover Gerald Eastmure played for both the thirds and reserves at North Melbourne before making his senior debut in 1954. He went on to play 121 VFL games and kick 129 goals for the club between 1954 and 1961. The high esteem in which he was held during his career is clearly evidenced by his selection to represent the VFL in 1957, 1959 and 1960.
