In 1962, Glen Bow celebrated his only season in the WANFL with South Fremantle by claiming the club’s fairest and best award. A highly versatile, hard at the ball type of player, he appeared in all 22 of South’s games for the year, registering one goal. His only other involvement in top level league football had been with VFL side Geelong from 1954 to 1956, when he played 14 games and booted three goals. He hailed originally from Norseman in Western Australia’s Goldfields-Esperance region. He rounded off his career with a stint as captain-coach of Manuka during which time he also captained the ACT representative team.
