Originally from New Norfolk, Graeme Hinchen made his name with Fitzroy as a tough, aggressive permanent back pocket who played a big part in the Lions’ surge to the top of the premiership table in 1983. He struggled with injuries later, and was forced to retire after just 77 VFL games, which were played between 1981 and 1987.
