Quick, intelligent, and a fine overhead mark, Havel Rowe, who hailed from Geelong College, played 124 VFL games for Richmond between 1948 and 1957. He was equally at home across centre or half forward, and won the Tigers best and fairest award in 1953. Havel Rowe was no relation of teammate Des Rowe.
