A handy half forward flanker and wingman from South Districts, Jack Eichhorn commenced his VFL career with South Melbourne in 1948. With the exception of the 1952 season, when he played 17 games, he was never a first choice senior player, but he nevertheless managed to put together 50 appearances and 29 goals by the time of his retirement in 1954.
