Initially from Ballarat, Jack Gervasoni was a gifted rover who played 89 league games for Fitzroy between 1951 and 1956. He kicked 86 goals. Pacy, skilled and elusive, opponents underestimated him at their peril. In 1957, Gervasoni succeeded William Faul as coach of VFA club Northcote, but his two seasons at the helm produced just six wins from 38 matches.
