Geelong’s Jack Gray combined weight, skill, dash and determination in ample measure. He was also a strong overhead mark. Equally at home in the ruck or a key defensive position, he relished the physical elements of the game, and was both resilient and resourceful. From 1911 to 1915, between 1917 and 1919, and in 1921 he played 77 VFL games and kicked eight goals.
