After two brief stints at Melbourne in 1933 and 1936 which yielded just three appearances and two goals, Jack Harrison went on to become a regular senior player with North Melbourne. Between 1939 and 1947 he played 92 VFL games and kicked 20 goals for the shinboners. Used initially as a centre half forward, he was converted into a solid and highly useful defender.
