Typically used as a tagger or set position defender Jayson Daniels was a fiercely determined footballer who, as the saying goes, 'took no prisoners'. His kicking sometimes let him down, however. St Kilda drafted him from Parkmore and he made the first of 115 appearances with the club in 1988. Those appearances came in two separate stints, 1988 to 1992 and 1996 to 1998. The interim period was spent with Sydney for whom he played 58 AFL games. He was still capable of good defensive football when he retired after the 1998 semi final loss to Melbourne.
