Between 1967 and 1975 he played 117 VFL games for the Saints and kicked 51 goals. He played in his usual position on a wing when St Kilda slumped to defeat against Hawthorn in the 1971 grand final. After leaving St Kilda Manzie spent the 1976 and 1977 seasons with Claremont in the WAFL, playing 28 senior games and kicking 15 goals.
