John Peter-Budge was a purposeful, attacking wingman whose VFL career was curtailed because of back problems. He joined St Kilda from Beverley Hills and debuted in 1986. For most of his three season league career he was a first choice senior player, making a total of 45 appearances and scoring 26 goals. He might have realistically been expected to achieve more had his career not been prematurely derailed by injury.
