Originally from Stawell, Ken Beck was an extremely reliable ruckman for Hawthorn over 143 VFL games from 1962 to 1972. One of the tallest players of his era, standing at 198cm, Beck played in the Hawks' losing 1963 Grand Final side against Geelong and was 19th man when the team went one better and took the flag in 1971.
