A wingman and half forward flanker, Nathan Bower boasted plenty of pace and skill and was a very good kick on the run. He joined Richmond from Mildura and went on to play 74 AFL games and kick 22 goals from 1991 to 1998. He enjoyed a particularly impressive season in 1995 when he performed consistently throughout and was an important contributor to the Tigers’ highly promising, but ultimately failed, finals campaign. After leaving Richmond in 1999 he was appointed captain-coach of Bendigo Diggers in the VFL, but the side endured a horror year which resulted in a wooden spoon.
