Nigel Fiegert was a capable, strong at the ball footballer who played mainly in the backlines, although he was more than capable of pinch-hitting up forward when prevailed upon to do so. His 168 SANFL games between 1996 and 2004 for Port Adelaide Magpies included the victorious grand finals of 1998 against Sturt and 1999 against Norwood. He also played 19 AFL games for Port Adelaide in the AFL between 1997 and 1999 without ever fully establishing himself.
