Geelong’s Paul Jeffreys was a spectacular high flier whose aerial exploits often featured in TV highlights reels. He was also a solid and reliable defender who could kick the ball substantial distances. Most of his football was played at centre half back or in a back pocket. Between 1977 and 1985 he played 91 VFL games and kicked 23 goals, tallies which would both have been higher had he not been so frequently hampered by injury in his last few seasons.
