Son of former Footscray and West Perth player Bob Spargo junior, Paul Spargo was a highly skilled midfielder who played 81 V/AFL games and scored 109 goals for North Melbourne from 1985 to 1992. He spent the 1993 season with Brisbane, where he added a final nine games and nine goals to his respective career tallies. Spargo later coached Albury, steering the side to no fewer than five senior grade flags.
