Hailing from Mildura, Paul Prymke was a highly capable defender whose career was ultimately short-circuited by injury. He commenced with West Torrens in 1989 which was the club’s second to last season and played 38 games before continuing with Woodville West Torrens in 1991. After 64 games with this fresh incarnation of the Eagles he was picked up by Melbourne in 1994. Highly regardced within the club he was sometimes under-estimated by opponents. In 1995 he finished third in the Demons’ best and fairest count but over the next couple of seasons he was confronted by injury problems which limited him to just four games in 1996 and none whatsoever the next, which proved to be hist last.
