Perce Daykin was an effective footballer for Carlton before, during and after world war one. A half forward flanker or forward pocket who boasted excellent judgement he played a total of 134 VFL games and kicked 136 goals between 1914 and 1921. A dual premiership player he was listed among the best players in both the 1914 challenge final defeat of South Melbourne and the victory over Collingwood in the equivalent match the following year. His last game for the Blues was the 1921 challenge final loss to Richmond.
