Peter Morrison was unable to get a game at Footscray, where he managed just a single senior appearance in 1974. A knee reconstruction caused him to miss the whole of the 1975 season and when he resumed in 1976 he had ventured to pastures new in the shape of South Melbourne. After a less than convincing start to his career with the Swans he developed into a top quality performer, not to mention, in more modern parlance, something of a ball magnet. On a couple of occasions during his 90 game, 95 goal stint with South he was the side’s top possession winner for the year, and he also clearly knew where the goals were. He might have been expected to go on to even better things but he was alienated by South’s relocation to Sydney in 1982 and never played VFL football again.
