A wingman, and one of the best players afield in North Melbourne's breakthrough 1975 premiership triumph, Peter Chisnall was a charismatic individual who attracted a measure of fan adulation. He played 80 VFL games for the Kangas between 1968 and 1970 and from 1974 to 1976. In between he played for VFA first division team Sandringham. Chisnall's last game for North was the 1976 grand final loss to Hawthorn, when he was named as a reserve.
After departing the VFL scene Peter Chisnall captain-coached TFL side New Norfolk in 1976-7. He later had a stint as non-playing coach of Port Melbourne before again taking the reins at New Norfolk, albeit in an off-field capacity this time, in 1990. He later endured a horror season with a Launceston team which was taking its bows in the statewide competition in 1994. The Blues were completely out of their depth and only managed one win on the field for the season. Chisnall departed the club at the end of the year and has not been involved in football since.
