Younger brother of dual West Coast premiership hero John Worsfold, Peter Worsfold was a talented footballer in his own right, playing 155 games and kicking 132 goals for South Fremantle interspersed with 31 games and 24 goals for Brisbane.

While with the Bears he was a member of their 1991 AFL reserves premiership-winning team. In 1997 he was co-captain of the South Fremantle team which claimed the flag with a grand final defeat of East Fremantle. He represented Western Australia in 1994 against South Australia, and the following year against Queensland, both of which matches the sandgropers won.
