Quite diminutive at 178cm and 71.5kg, Ron McLeod was a blond-haired wingman whose VFL career was severely impacted by the second world war. He commenced with North Melbourne, where he played 28 games and scored 13 goals from 1936 to 1938, and then had a stop-start stint with St Kilda, for whom he added 39 appearances and 39 goals over eight seasons. He rounded off his playing career in the VFA with Brunswick where he played 20 games and scored 13 goals in 1948.
