Collingwood's Shane Kerrison was a determined, resourceful player who did his work unobtrusively, almost surreptitiously. Frequently used as a tagger he made life difficult for even the most flamboyantly talented of opponents. Between 1986 and 1995 he played a total of 141 V/AFL games for the Magpies, and kicked 15 goals. The undoubted highlight came in 1990 when he was a late inclusion, replacing the injured Alan Richardson, in the Collingwood team which comfortably accounted for Essendon in the grand final.
After retiring as a player Kerrison served for a time as Collingwood's runner.
