Simon Garlick was an adaptable and sometimes fiery utility who played some good football, without really establishing himself, for Sydney in 44 AFL games between 1994 and 1997. After being traded to the Western Bulldogs, however, he really came into his own, with his ability to take on and succeed in a wide range of on-field tasks making him all the more valuable. He played 137 games and kicked 114 goals for the Bulldogs between 1998 and 2004.
