Well proportioned at 191cm and 90kg Steve Reynoldson looked set for a memorable career when he produced ome exceptional bursts of football in his first few seasons. However, he failed fully to build on this promise, although to be fair it should be acknowledged that he was hampered by persistent injury concerns. Capable of playing in any key position he was probably best suited to centre half forward which was where he lined up most frequently while with Geelong. During his time with Brisbane he was mainly used at centre half back. His VFL career comprised 84 games and 70 goals for the Cats from 1981 to 1986, followed by 58 games and 17 goals for the Bears between 1987 and 1991.
