Terry Benton was a serviceable defender from West Coburg who played 77 VFL games and scored three goals for North Melbourne between 1963 and 1969. In both 1966 and 1967 he played every game for the year. After leaving North he captain-coached Latrobe Valley Football League club Leongatha for several seasons and won the competition’s best and fairest award in 1971.
