Tony Godden was a talented midfielder who played 145 games and kicked 76 goals for Subiaco between 1990 and 2003. A particular career highlight was finishing runner-up in voting for the 1995 Sandover Medal. He also played briefly for West Coast (13 games, eight goals 1993-5) and Fremantle (11 games, six goals 1996-8). During his AFL career he was repeatedly hampered by injury, and indeed did not play at all in 1997.
