Warren Tredrea enjoyed a league career coinciding for the most part with the early AFL phase in the history of his club, Port Adelaide, and his contribution to the club's success during that period has been unequalled. A supremely powerful, strong-marking, hefty-kicking key position forward, his accuracy from set shots sometimes left more than a little to be desired, but other than that it was hard to pinpoint a weakness in his game.

Voted Port's best and fairest player on three occasions, other career highlights included membership of the 2001-2-3-4 AFL All Australian teams, membership of the breakthrough 2004 premiership side, topping the Power's goal kicking list seven times, and captaining the club since 2006. Prior to embarking on the AFL phase of his career in 1997, Tredrea helped Port to the 1996 SANFL premiership at the expense of Central District. By the time he retired at end of the 2010 season he had amassed a club record 255 AFL games and kicked 549 goals.

Warren Tredrea's father, Gary Tredrea, was a league footballer with Collingwood, Port Adelaide and West Adelaide.
