Wes Fellowes was the son of former Collingwood ruckman Graeme Fellowes. Although sometimes criticised over his apparent lack of aggression he was good enough to win the Magpies' best and fairest award in 1986. Recruited from Bulleen-Templestowe, he played 102 VFL games for Collingwood between 1981 and 1989. He was a strongly built, athletic ruckman capable of dominating games. In 1991 he bobbed up at SANFL club Port Adelaide for whom he played 23 games in two seasons.
