Although he only played 64 games of league football for Glenelg between 1959 and 1962 Bill Herron could be a phenomenal player on his day. His kicking, particularly when using the drop kick, was perhaps the most impressive feature of his game. He might conceivably have gone on to be one of the ‘greats’ but his career was cruelly curtailed by injury.
