Brian Schwarz was an extremely reliable half back flanker who was a key member of Sturt’s 1966-7-8 grand final-winning teams. He hailed originally from Horsham in western Victoria but attended school in Adelaide which was where he came to the attention of the Double Blues. He played a total of 90 SANFL games for Sturt, and kicked four goals, between 1963 and 1968. He enjoyed his best and most consistent campaign in 1967 when he was selected in the prestigious Advertiser Team of the Year.
