A utility who played mostly in the backlines, Brian Turner was a serviceable player for Collingwood without ever quite managing to nail down a regular spot in the side. In 1952 and from 1954 to 1957 he played 38 VFL games and scored 11 goals. In 1959 he joined North Melbourne where he saw rather more senior team action, making 43 appearances over three seasons without registering a goal. His brother Ken was a noteworthy Collingwood player in the 1950s and ‘60s.
