In 1992 and 199i3 he played 28 AFL games for Richmond, kicking seven goals. Poised and skilful, he was equally suited to a half back flank or a run on the ball. His kicking was crisp and precise. Sturt won the premiership in Bruce Lennon's final season but he was not selected to play.
