Clarrie Cannon was a forceful, effervescent and sometimes feisty follower who was generally effective, but was also criticised for sometimes running “just two strides too many”. He was a stalwart of West Adelaide sides from 1946 to 1956, during which he played 160 SANFL games and kicked 109 goals.
